In September 2008, Skeleton Cru successfully completed the re-painting of the Chapel Rd pedestrian underpass. The project was run as a competition - designed to involve local artists, students and local school children.

The project was specifically designed to fit into the Worthing Town Master-plan, but unfortunately we were unable to acquire any funds or sponsorship directly from the Regeneration team. This in no way deterred us from completing what we recognised as a creative and valuable expression of the local community.

The Re-Generation/ Painting of Worthing’s pedestrian underpass- has reached completion in September 2008.

As an on-going five year regeneration plan, this involves over twenty thousand school children, hundreds of local artists, and is being run as a competition, that gives the winners a versatile ‘canvas’ to display their talent, and a space for the recognition of the schools and businesses giving their support.

Each child giving their support gets free website membership worth £40.00, a free magazine that they will contribute to, in print and on-line, and a community headquarters to meet and develop future projects and expand on their creativity.

From this project Skeleton Cru not only aims to provide a constantly open forum for Worthing’s youth to network, but will work to empower them to explore their creative potential, their community and their place in how they can contribute to it. Through the magazine, website, community shops and events, these empowered individuals can access a local and global marketplace, promote themselves and their creativity as independent and positive members of their community.

Through having direct contact and working with the creative potential in the community, and by providing them with relevant forums through which they can actively contribute to, i.e. Through the magazine, website, community shops and events, these empowered individuals can access a local and global marketplace, promote themselves and their creativity as independent and positive members of their community and benefit from opportunities ranging from: networking; funding for equipment; events; PSHE classes and other educational opportunities for schools; public ice-skating in the town centre at Christmas; to cross cultural and outdoor pursuits.
